On June 1, 2024, at the Health and Wellness/Women’s Day Out Expo held at DoubleTree by Hilton in Gilbert, Arizona, Dr. Rajiv Parikh, M.D., and Angela Rush, FNP-C, presented an informative session on “Clinical Trials Relating to Alzheimer’s, Diabetes, Idiopathic REM Behavior Disorder (RBD), and more.” They educated the audience on the significance of clinical research in developing new medicines, medical devices, and conducting observational studies, emphasizing the innovative approaches driving advancements in medicine. The presentation underscored the importance of personalized medicine, ensuring patients receive tailored care and attention.
Dr. Parikh highlighted the different types of diabetes and the importance of preventative care, stressing that all individuals over the age of 45 should be screened for diabetes, with some recommendations suggesting screenings start as early as 40. The discussion included essential screening measures such as blood tests, fasting tests, and hemoglobin A1c tests.
